A summary of the Communications Decency Act, Section 230, and how it pertains to comment sections.

If you’re a U.S.-based news organization, you’re legally protected from being responsible for anything that people post in the comments, regardless of whether you moderate them. This applies to everything except for comments posted by a member of your staff, or if you materially change the content of a comment.
