How The New York Times seeks to deepen relationships between journalists and readers

The New York Times Reader Center aims “to make deeper reader engagement more core to its editorial processes.”

The New York Times launched a Reader Center to help deepen reader engagement through the newsroom. Hanna Ingber, editorial director of the Reader Center, said the goals for the initiative included changing the relationship between readers and journalists, “by empowering journalists to do more to to connect with readers, to respond to readers, and to be more engaged with readers.” This Nieman Lab article also includes details about some of the Reader Center’s first projects.
