Why Axios was deliberate about choosing Apple News for its platform strategy.

Axios, which launched in early 2017, chose Apple News as its first platform to distribute content because Apple agreed to allow native ads that appear similarly to ads on the Axios website, according to an article from Digiday.

“At a time when premium publishers like the Guardian and The New York Times have pulled out of Facebook Instant Articles due to its inability to help them monetize content, Apple is showing it is open to creating custom units to appease publishers.”
